@hste Oh ya the play and charge kit was garbage. I had several so my friends and I could play multiplayer Halo together. They didn't last a year, or about a year. I went back to batteries and then to rechargeable ones.

I'm still death gripping an OG wired 360 controller on my PC. I'm actively looking for a backup wired controller. Clicky dpads are no-go for me.

@hste The brook adapters are awesome. I use one on my 360 all the time. I'm not sure most third party controllers are inferior to current Xbox & PS2 controllers, though. I have a bunch of Chinese ones that pretty much blow them out of the water in nigh-on every way possible. Especially when it comes to Xbox controllers; they've been lacking for me ever since the Xbox One pads.

How is 10 hours a charge a pros? You really couldn't think of anything else ? That's mediocre at best.

For those on a tighter budget, I bought a couple of DataFrog 360 wireless pads from AliExpress. At £8 each, shipped, the quality is amazing. The button, stick, and trigger feel is great. They feel well made, too.

@Santar there are controller converters like a brook wingman; at least those will let you use dualshocks or series controllers that are probably a lot better than most thirdparty ones.

I bought Retro Fighters' BrawerGen controller years ago and I was very disappointed with it. With so many other companies making very good controllers, I never considered buying another controller from Retro Fighters.

The thing that holds me back is that price. I'm not ready to pay $85 Canadian for a third party controller that isn't up to par with the original.

The fact i can use standard AA batteries is actually one of the things i like most about the 360 controller. I had a play and charge kit, it wore out years ago. Using my fresh IKEA rechargable batteries it goes on and on like it's new, and it gets a lot more than the 10 hours this hunter controller manages to get.

Looking forward to putting the Hunter 360 through it's paces. I pre-ordered mine a while ago, it feels like it's been a year?

Retro Fighters is very, very hit & miss for me. More miss, since I've never really stuck to their controllers for any length of time.

I was mildly impressed by the Hunter Crystal, but the sticks on that have a few issues. For being hall effect, there is still a slight dead-zone, and diagonals are weak on it, even after the updates.

I'm hopeful that they've improved on them with the Hunter 360.

The triggers mirroring the current Xbox controllers is a huge negative for me, as is a clicky d-pad. Changing the round silver middle button to a bland white oval is also unfortunate. Luckily replacement analogue sticks for original 360 controllers are cheap, so I'm sticking to keeping my original remotes alive with those, and using the Hyperkin Xenon for PC.

I don't normally want to be critcal of a review but as you are using the 360 as the main target. You could point out this is missing the port on the bottom of the controller.

Which the 360 pad used for the mic and chatpad extras. So they won't work with it. It is something I found seems to happen alot as I still use my 360 a lot and have a newer pad which does not support the mic.

Which does not help when playing 360 games online which are not available via backcat
